Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022 !

June 04, 2022

I'm so thrilled ... from 15,000 global applicants, my aptly named photographic work Watershed Moment has been selected to exhibit alongside 1200 artworks in 2022’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition !

I'll be jetting off to see my work on the wall, and can't wait to see the show.
Keep an eye on my Instagram as I'll be posting lots of my colourful London adventures

Since its inception in 1768, the Royal Academy has continuously held an annual exhibition, open to all noteworthy artists to be viewed and made available for purchase by the public. Works will be available through the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition website. I love that this exhibition is inclusive, an open invitation, democratic; it aims to support the artistic community and art education as well as offering a global forum of hope and creativity for all to enjoy.

This year’s London Royal Academy Summer Exhibition theme is 'Climate', curated by sculptor Alison Wilding. The Watershed Moment reminds us of the effects of climate change on our ecosystems while paradoxically conveying a sense of the eternal; the exquisite demising sunflowers offering a contemporary take on Van Gogh’s famous blooms.

I created this work in the ebbing New Zealand summer, and although it was sad to watch their demise, there was also a joy watching them crawling with fauna, birds feasting on their seeds, and that in death they were still magnificent.
