Florassemblage is a solo exhibition of a suite of exciting and joyful new works from Emma Bass, as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography
Florassemblage presents an original, gravity-defying, vibrant and colourful interpretation of Emma’s well-loved floral portraits. This bold new series of work extends her evolving photograph process to include paint, presenting a rich and joyous dance of colour and form. These works deconstruct the still life genre, challenging viewers with a double take on perspective and point-of-view. They are laden with Bass' mischievous archetypes, with an assortment of hidden details for the viewer to hunt for and discover over time.
