Threatened by kauri dieback disease, these trees face extinction despite conservation efforts. The artwork features empty nests and the extinct huia bird, evoking loss and underscoring the urgency of preservation. Digitally grafted like a new plant, Kauri Ora becomes a phantasmological fusion of old and new, imagining resilience through technology and honoring life’s fragile balance.
